They seem to be sprouting up all over the internet these days with titles like "Make Big Money in trucking" . What is this big secret? The truth is- it is no secret the earning potential in trucking. I will break it down for you: A new driver can expect to earn between $25,000-$35,000 the first couple of years. If you last a year in this tough business, keep your nose clean, and no major accidents, earnings will go up from there. It will all depend on you and how much you're willing to sacrifice in the process. Owner operators earn as much as $250,000 per year in some cases. Just keep in mind that a large percentage of that will be spent on truck payments, insurance, fuel, maintenance, and not the least of which, taxes.

The best companies are LTL unionized companies like YRC (Yellow/Roadway), ABF (Arkansas Best Freight), UPS, and others. This is no secret and these jobs are in highest demand. If you are fortunate to hook up with one of these outfits, expect to spend a long time working up the seniority ladder. Starting at "part time", many drivers wait years to find a full time slot. As far as "best" trucking companies, that is simply a matter of opinion which usually varies greatly. One mans perfect could be an others nightmare. Like all professions this job is what you make of it, do your own research online and talk to other drivers. Don't look to some Ebook for such an important decision. It is after all your life and your future.

Many of these ebooks do not really contain "secrets" but are full of affiliate links to job placement services, various company recruiters, truck driving schools, and so on. I have nothing against these guys trying to make a buck, as I practice Affiliate marketing myself. However the ebooks I've seen  contain very little useful content. For the most part, if you want to earn extra money driving a truck, do so on your laptop while sitting in the truckstop. And no I'm not talking about some scam.

The internet is a great way to further your education. Many prestigious universities now offer complete courses online toward a degree that will have the potential to help you realize that fortune. Not even to mention the wealth of knowledge that is to be gained from the internet. If you do not as yet keep a laptop in the truck, RUN don't walk to the nearest Walmart, Bestbuy, or where ever you can find the best deal and get started!

Have a Great Ride!
